A discussion of the first action plan for the social and solidarity economy with social entrepreneurs on 17th February 2022 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am (Irish Time).
Europe boasts 2.8 million social economy entities that employ 13.6 million people. With the
European Commission’s adoption of the Social Economy Action Plan on 9 December 2021,
the social and solidarity economy – one of the 14 industrial ecosystems which are the basis
for the EU’s resilience and the green and digital transitions – is central to the European
imperatives that the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union is determined
to promote and see-through.
European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit and Minister of State for
the Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy Olivia Grégoire will discuss the European
Commission’s first action plan for the social and solidarity economy with social
entrepreneurs. The discussions will be led by Victor Meseguer, Social Economy Europe
Director.
